狭山茶は、『色は静岡、香りは宇治よ、味は狭山でトドメさす～♪』
ともうたわれる、日本三大銘茶の一つです。
産業として茶業が成り立つ北限の1つと言われる狭山の地では、寒い冬を乗り越えるため、一般的な産地よりも葉肉が厚く、味・色・香りの強い成分豊富な茶葉が育ちます。
反面で、寒さゆえに生産量が極めて少ないのも狭山茶の特徴。
希少でいて高級、都心から最も近いお茶どころの銘茶が、狭山茶なのです。

Japanese people say “The best color of Japanese green tea is Shizuoka’s one,
the best smell is Uji’s（Kyoto） one, and the best taste of green tea is
SAYAMA’s one.”. SAYAMA TEA has a strong taste, smell, and color because it grows up in the northern limit of tea leaves growing environment.
It stocks its big energy in leaves because of the coldness in winter, but the amount of the harvested leaves is very small.
